Wellness & Recovery Center
Marina del Rey, CA
1,200 SF TENANT IMPROVEMENT
This wellness center was conceived as a calm, light-filled environment where architecture supports both physical recovery and mental clarity. The design reimagines traditional clinical spaces into a cohesive, hospitality-driven experience—one that feels intuitive, warm, and restorative from the moment of arrival.
Natural light plays a central role throughout the project. Treatment areas are oriented toward exterior windows, allowing views of sky and landscape to become part of the therapeutic experience. Soft, sheer drapery filters daylight, creating a sense of privacy without disconnecting from the outdoors.
The spatial organization prioritizes clarity and flow. A minimal reception area opens directly into a multi-use IV therapy lounge, establishing visual continuity while maintaining a sense of calm openness. Supporting spaces—including private treatment rooms, infrared therapy areas, and a sauna and cold plunge suite—are designed as quieter, more intimate environments, each with its own distinct atmosphere.
Material selection reinforces a consistent and refined palette. Light ash herringbone wood flooring, warm limewash plaster walls, and natural stone elements create a soft, tactile backdrop. Black accents provide definition and contrast, while integrated lighting enhances the architecture without drawing attention to itself.
Throughout the project, restraint is intentional. Furniture, lighting, and accessories are carefully curated to reduce visual noise and support a slower, more deliberate experience. The result is a contemporary wellness environment that feels elevated yet approachable—designed to promote comfort, clarity, and well-being.
